I don't know what you want to do in the future. If you buy a car that does not meet the roll bar requirements, and you just want to auto-corss for now, but later you may want to do road racing, the roll bar issue maybe a problem.
When I purchased my 1985 Red Devil, I knew that it would not meet the new roll bar requirements, but there is a race car fabrication shop close to me and I had them upgrade the main and front roll hoops to the new requirements. At the time, it was relatively inexpensive, about $400, but times have changed.
I would recommend a car that meets the new roll bar requirements.
