Racing at Road America
Drivers from around the country will gather October 9-11, at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, for the 57th running of the Sports Car Club of America National Championship Runoffs. The event will determine the best drivers of the season within 26 classes of competition with nearly 600 entries expected. The Runoffs have been known to be springboard to higher-level racing with a history of big names such as Skip Barber, Paul Newman, Bobby Rahal, Graham Rahal, Roger Penske, and Jimmy Vasser.The paddock is expected to be filled with local racers fielding a large variety of cars including American muscle cars, open-wheel formula cars, historic Triumphs and Austin Healeys, Toyotas, Mazdas, and BMWs. The 4.048-mile circuit features 14 turns, three high-speed straights, and 170 feet of eleveation changes. Tickets are available at www.roadamerica.com, please be ready to follow safety protocols such as social distancing and face coverings during the event.

Below is the Runoffs race schedule. All listings are Central Time and subject to change. Each race is 13 laps or 40 minutes, whichever comes first.

8:15 a.m.: Touring 1 (T1)
9:15 a.m.: Formula 500 (F500)
10:15 a.m.: Touring 3 (T3)
11:15 a.m.: GT-3 (GT3)
1 p.m.: Spec Miata (SM)
2 p.m.: Prototype 2 (P2)
3 p.m.: F Production (FP)
4 p.m.: Touring 2 (T2)
5 p.m.: Formula Atlantic (FA)
