Hi! I'm Ed Capullo and some of you may remember me from racing with some of you from 2006 until the end of the 2012 season. At age 70 I decided to stop driving and get out of everyone's way. Since 2014 I have worked Pit lane for all the New England Region's events and became Pit Chief of the NER in 2015. This past weekend we had our first race of the season having lost 3 earlier races to the Virus. We opened up with the Majors at Thompson We had 4 originally entered but one (Rick Johnson) did not show. We had Russell Strate Jr. in the QRE car served by "Q", Bob Gray in another Q car, and Rich Loduca in his own car.
Russ Strate won a hard-fought battle on Sunday over Bob Gray but we had an early retirement from Rich. Fast time for Russ was 1:20.424 with Bob posting a 1:18.717 (on the last lap)which was fast time overall for the F5s and Rich Loduca had a 1:23.797 to wind up 3rd. All the cars were 2 strokes, one 494 and two 593s. It was nice to see some F5s racing again. We have had some show at LRP and Rick Johnson from RI has raced several times at Thompson but usually with no other F5s. I look forward to more young guys entering F5 (even with MC engines) so we can rebuild the class here in the NER.

HI Ed,
Glad to see you join the site.
Yes I remember you well. Always admired you for getting involved in the "other side of the cockpit" and doing something to help the local track.
An thanks for the race report.
Richard
