Are any tracks going to be open for SCCA racing this summer? Is anyone working on their F500's?

I think a lot o folks are on Facebook.

I currently have the road race set up on the car as I'm not sure which type of event I will be attending first. My next available road race is October 3-4. We may have a June night autocross (I'm in Vegas, we switch to night events in the summer) but I typical don't go to night autocross. If the September autocross is within 2 weeks of the road race I likely will skip it, hence my leaving the road race set up on the car.

I have been dragging the car out of the garage and running the engine for a few minutes every few weeks.

That's what I've heard is there is some activity on Facebook. How long have you been racing Tom? I was a crew chief for Richard Schmidt when he was driving, and got very interested in the F500 cars, learned a lot. Now that he has set up a forum website he's been hoping to see some discussions on here but I think due to the lack of races being held just not too much to talk about. He always enjoyed Dix's site and when that went away he decided to get a new one going but its been slow. I wish you luck at getting your car out on the track soon instead of just letting it run for a few minutes every once in awhile. :)

I'm on my 36th year if we count the my motorcycle racing. I started autocrossing a Datsun 1200 in 1989 (which I still own) which we then started road racing in 1991. I now use it for vintage races. Over the last 30 years I've run a Showroom Stock Miata, Formula Vee, D-Sports racer and as of 5 years ago the F500. My Novakar is the 3rd one built (1987) and I will be running that at vintage races as well as continuing to autocross it. I also instruct at track days, by virtue of that I end up driving some cool cars (Vipers 911 GT3-RS etc) but I still love small bore cars.

Historically I've had a love hate relationship with single seat cars, love driving them but hated owning them. So far the F500 has been user friendly from both a maintenance and budget standpoint. My only regret is that I didn't start running one sooner.

I'm hopeful that this site will gain traction as things I open back up.

You have been racing a long time with a variety of cars. That's what keeps it interesting right? I sincerely hope you and everyone else with F500 cars gets back out on the track.

And I hope too that this site picks up, a lot of effort was put into getting it set up, it will be fun to see it succeed.
