Re: 2024 SCCA RUNOFFS ARE COMIMG UP IN OCTOBER
The 2024 SCCA Runoffs are over. An exciting week of qualifying, race prep, and then the RACE.
Here is the entry list for the F600 group: Here is the starting grid for the F600 group for the Sunday morning race: * - faster than existing Runoffs qualifying record (2:20.954)
Here are the race results: Congratulations to James Weida for winning the SCCA F600 Runoffs at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. He also set a new track record for F600 cars.
Calvin Stewart had the pole position at the race start.
- By lap 4, James had moved up to the 3rd position and was challenging the leaders.
- James took the lead on lap 6 with a skillful move on the outside of Calvin in turn 5.
- After passing Calvin, James never looked back and held the lead to the checkered flag.
The top three or four drivers are to be congratulated for their great driving, but James takes the top of the podium with a great win.
James Weida showed what the combination of great preparation, driving skills and the performance of the two-cycle engine can do against the crowded, motor cycle powered cars.
