2023 SCCA Runoffs F600
It was a heck of a battle. Calvin Stewart (car # 07) started in first place with his Suzuki power car, but the lead change before the end of the first lap. James Weida (car # 22 the black car powered by a Rotax) soon wrestled the lead from Calvin. Also in the mix was Jason Martin (car # 78 the red Novakar powered by a Suzuki) as the race for the lead heated up.
The lead position changed nearly every lap with Calvin, James and Jason mixing up the first three places.
With about 2 laps to go, James spun on one of the turns and that pretty much ended his challenge for a top position.
Surviving all the trouble on the track, Keith Joslyn (car # 55 Rotax powered), took advantage of James’s spin to move up into the 3rd spot for the finish.
So there you have it:
1st place Calvin Stewart Fastest Lap time: 1:58.816 Max speed: 144.0 mph
2n place Jason Martin Fastest Lap time: 1:58.878 Max speed: 139.9 mph
3rd place Keith Joslyn Fastest Lap time: 2:00.647 Max speed: 140.8 mph
James Weida spinning out of contention
A very happy Calvin Stewart
