Howdy all! Thanks for the welcome.

My name's Gabriel. I'm 48 from central PA. I've been racing rental karts for a while and I'm eager to take the next step into club racing. I joined SCCA and I'm currently exploring classes. So far FV, FST and F500 feel like the best fit. I have a passion for road racing so that's where I'd like to be running. The northeast region seems to be a great place for this kind of thing with lots of opportunities.

I've already passed my SCCA medical and I'm looking toward a purchase. What’s the F500 market like? I keep my eyes on Apex Speed and some Facebook buy/sell groups.

Any and all comments/info are welcome.

Gabriel,
I think that the F600 class and cars offer the best dollar for you racing budget. You didn't say what kind of carts you were renting. Are those 2 cycle racing carts ?

Your location is in a good area for getting some eyes on some of the local F600 cars. As you may have figured out by now, there are two choices for the power plant in the F600 cars. The F500, now F600, cars started out as all 2 cycle powered. Later on, some people wanted to use four cylinder 600cc motorcycle engines. So now you have a choice.

It's a little late in the year now, but you would be best served if you would go to some races where the F600 cars are running and get to know the cars and more information on them.

One thing to kept in mind, the F600 cars are not like sedans. There is no seat adjuster and some of the cockpits can be cramped. If you are serious about buying a car, good advice is to never buy a car without sitting in it first.

Good Luck,
Richard
