Finally Got To Track My Miata

Post by PDXLance »

Had a track day yesterday, put on by a really nice real estate guy looking to expand his clients and have some fun, it was free to friends of his. I run in a low brow group so I was the friend of the friend...Bone stock 2020 RF with Brembo brake package. Man, like a "Crate" track car, so much fun and really drive-able, I got my shifting down fairly quickly since I have not run a shifting car at race pace for some time, but had a blast! Got to instruct a friend and take him on a few fast laps, I heard a lot of "OHH SH..." Little low on top end, only got about 107, me only in the car and windows rolled up. (500 is about 122 with 494 and 128 with my new 593). Now I see.... lowering springs, better brake pads, slotted and drilled rotors, up-rated anti-roll bars, shock tower brace in the rear, lighter wheels, some wider track tires...

Only a moderate money pit compared to a real racing event...
