THE SCCA SCREWS OVER THE SMALL FORMULA CAR CLASS.

25 Hoosier Super Tour Schedule Debuts, Featuring Notable Run Group Changes

Over the last several months, SCCA announced that there will be changes to the Hoosier Super Tour run groups that align with SCCA Road Racing class changes and consolidations, like American Sedan running with Touring 2, GT-Lite racing within F Production, and Super Touring® Under and GT-3 taking steps toward future consolidation. These changes will take effect starting with the first Hoosier Super Tour of 2025.

Changes for the 2025 Season

For 2025, changes to the standard run group combinations will apply to all Hoosier Super Tour events. In addition, larger Hoosier Super Tour events will not include the small open-wheel run group comprising of Formula F, Formula Vee, and Formula 600.

The FF, FV, and F600 run group is consistently the least-subscribed across the Hoosier Super Tour season and incompatible for other grouping considerations. To address crowding in other run groups that are highly subscribed and often at the group limit threshold, SCCA has decided to reallocate the on-track session time of the small open-wheel group to create space in the schedule.

The FF, FV, and F600 classes will have bonus U.S. Majors Tour® event opportunities at select Regional event weekends, which will earn U.S. Majors Tour Conference points (but not be eligible for Hoosier Super Tour points). These will be added to the event calendar at several tracks hosting Hoosier Super Tours, but on Regional race weekends. Tracks currently planning bonus Majors opportunities for these classes include Sebring International Raceway, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, VIRginia International Raceway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and Watkins Glen International.
